I’ve started reworking the look of the site to be easier to use. The calendar, categories, and archives are for the most part fairly worthless. I should probably add into the code some tracking stuff related to how often they are used, but for the most part there are only two things “useful” in the current design: posts and audio.
The audio isn’t set up to be easily scanned to see what has been recently updated (though I did add in the latest update and they are listed in order of update). Since we know what the long term vision for the site is, it makes sense to move to an html equivalent of that look now. The main issue I’m having with it are in regards to Internet Explorer refusing to make elements “fixed” within the browser. There is an issue regarding how to handle the display for 1024×768 users but I’m going to face that regardless. for the most part it’s designed to be viewed at the very least of 1280×1024 (which is like 15% of the users on the web if memory serves me correctly).
So be on the look out for something different and easier to use.
i just block time to work on stuff. once i leave work, i leave work. then again this is my “second job” and as a result i dedicate most waking hours that aren’t committed to anything to it.
it helps that “this” is what i do and that it comes naturally to me. so what might take some weeks to do, might only take me a few hours.
Where’s this new look I heard about?
And what about the Choking Sun logo?
I gotta have something to put on the beer labels for Choking Sun Stout…
