well, on the first day of my trip to amsterdam (in fact before i’d even made it to amsterdam via the train from brussels) my backpack was stolen from over my head. seems the gypsy that “dropped change” on the floor beside us had a partner. So they walked off the train with my clothes, toiletries, car keys, and unfortunately my laptop. i’ve not hooked up my backup hard drive for it yet as i’m someone afraid to see what i lost. i know the midi device i was working on in max for live is gone as i’d never backed it up, but i’m hoping I at least have most of the sequencing for the last material we’ve recorded. if not its going to be a rather long and tedious effort as i reconstruct them.

so in case anyone lives along the train route from brussels to amsterdam, should you come across a black unbranded laptop with a lot of nice software on it (live, battery, scratch live, max for live, etc etc) i’d love to get it back. unfortunately i’m quite confident its in the same place as my wife’s phone: MIA.

At the recent ENLIST performance from Choking Sun, we received sixty-two dollars in donations towards the three charities sponsoring the event: Support Free Range Veal, The Gentleman Trucker Highway Club, and Dog Helicopter Rides of America. We’re still wondering how the bartender did since he was giving away 20 gallons of free beer made by us.

Returning to the Studio

This past weekend we began the process of moving everything from the ENLIST show back into the studio, including the gallows gate and other assorted items. The only way to get everything in there is to reconfigure a few things, including relocating my entire cd collection. It at least gave me the opportunity to file in all my latest cd purchases.

Picaflor Live Recording Available

For those interested we’ve made the live recording of the show available for download. its about an hour long and around 80MB. A quick pass through while editing out the dj set (which will be available in the coming days as well) seems to show that the levels are just fine without any overloading artifacts. There are probably a few, but good luck finding them. If you do choose to download it, please leave a comment.

Thanks for all that came out to enjoy the show on Friday. Seems the free beer was enough of a hit that 15 gallons were consumed during the 3 hour event. The only real unfortunate aspect is that yet again the videographer failed to show leaving us with only an audio recording of the show and photos. Family Portrait

last night for the first time since we began working on the gallows gate and screaming creator, they were all reunited for a family portrait. only a matter of a couple more sessions and they will all be completed and ready for the show.
