yesterday was the official end to boot camp. the gallows and the screaming creator are well along their way to completion and we’ve started to assemble press kits to sent out.
CS Boot Camp: Day 5
progress continues under the haze of a burning flame. paint fumes, drill bits, and razor blades are everywhere.
CS Boot Camp: Day 4
another day down in boot camp. the turntables, dj mixer, and the assorted gear piled above and below them are all wired up. to make sure audio was running through the system we spent some time not only messing around with existing tracks, but dropped on some tones on tail as we wound down for the evening. only my rack remains to be wired aside from the beast/kraken. i’ll need to hook up the g3 to the motu 896 to finish things up which should be rather easy.
CS Boot Camp: Day 2
we wrapped up the second day of boot camp last night. definitely not a giant visual change within the studio, but we have half of it wired and making noise. a handful of hardware parts and the gallows will be completed. unfortunately the humidity was close to 100% so we were unable to do any spray painting of the mannequins. hopefully it will be a bit drier this evening. if not, then i’ll be plugging in cables to the other half of the gear (the beast/kraken excluded).
CS Boot Camp: Day 1
choking sun boot camp 2009 started yesterday. the first task was to finish moving all the gear into the studio space. it took the better part of 8 hours, but we not only got all the gear in, but got it set up. the original intent was to keep all the equipment in the beast on one side but after looking at the possible total weight and the man power of two, it seemed wiser to empty it out. worked out quite well as we shuffled gear around and now have a nicely configured studio rack. nothing is presently wired, but by mid week we hope to be at that point. we did take over another room this time though its temporary while we finish up the garage/workshop and isolation room.
i spent the weekend in newark, de with our official brewer making 20 gallons of pale ale. ten gallons are for the show in nov and the other ten for him. it smelled fantastic as we began adding in the hops. so one more round trip to phl and we’ll be all set for the show. the next trip is going to be a bit brutal as we’ll be flying up, but driving back. other than myself, we aren’t sure who will be keeping me company on the drive.
